Therapy for teen girls & moms ready to build confidence and feel more in control of their lives.

Specialized therapy for teen girls navigating self-esteem struggles, relationship challenges, and major life transitions, including pregnancy and early motherhood.

A young woman with dreadlocks sitting on a tan leather sofa, wearing an orange sweatshirt and blue jeans, smiling and resting her chin on her hand. There are plants and wall decorations in the background.

You may be noticing that she…

  • Struggles with confidence or self-worth

  • Gets easily overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down

  • Has difficulty navigating friendships or romantic relationships

  • Is highly sensitive to rejection or conflict

  • Bottles things up or only shares pieces of what’s really going on

  • Is going through a major life transition (including pregnancy or becoming a young mom)

  • Needs support but doesn’t always know how to ask for it

And as a caregiver, you want to support her, but you’re not always sure how.

I specialize in working with teen girls who are thoughtful, emotionally aware, and capable of growth, but need the right space to open up and be supported.

Our work is not surface-level. I create a space where she can be honest, explore her experiences, and feel both supported and gently challenged.

This may be a good fit if she:

  • Is open (or willing to become open) to talking and self-reflection

  • Can express herself verbally (even if it’s hard at first)

  • Is motivated—or has support to stay engaged in therapy

  • Is curious about herself and wants to grow

  • Would benefit from a consistent, safe space

AND If caregiver is:

  • Willing to participate in occasional sessions

  • Supportive of the therapeutic process

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy can give her the space she’s been needing.

Through our work together, she can:

  • Build genuine self-confidence (not just “fake it” confidence)

  • Learn how to express herself clearly and safely

  • Understand her emotions instead of feeling controlled by them

  • Develop healthier relationship patterns

  • Feel supported during major life transitions

  • Strengthen her sense of identity and voice

A collaborative, relational approach that meets her where she is

This will not be a good fit if:

  • Therapy is court-ordered or required by external systems

  • There is active high-conflict custody or legal involvement

  • There is ongoing DCFS involvement requiring case management

  • She is not interested or willing to engage in therapy

  • She is unable to communicate verbally in sessions

Let’s chat so I can answer any questions and determine if it would be a good fit.

How involved are caregivers?

Caregivers play an important, supportive role in the process.

While sessions are primarily a space for your teen to speak freely and openly, I incorporate caregiver sessions as needed to support communication, alignment, and overall progress.

This is a collaborative process, while also protecting your teen’s sense of privacy and trust.

What if my teen is hesitant?

It’s very common for teens to feel unsure about starting therapy.

I approach this gently and at their pace, focusing first on building trust and helping them feel comfortable, rather than forcing the process.

That said, a basic level of openness and willingness is important for therapy to be effective. If your teen is strongly resistant, we can discuss whether this is the right time or fit.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your teen’s needs, goals, and level of engagement.

Some teens benefit from shorter-term support around a specific challenge, while others choose to stay longer for deeper growth and ongoing support.

We’ll regularly check in on progress and adjust as needed to ensure the work remains meaningful and aligned.

If you’re even considering this, it likely means she’s ready for a space like this, and you’re ready for the right kind of support.
