Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with Aetna and offer support for Out-of-Network (OON) clients through Mentaya, a platform that helps you get reimbursed by your insurance. My out-of-pocket rate is $150 per session.
Additional fees may apply for services like professional letters, forms, or court appearances. Some vouchers are accepted.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I currently offer individual therapy for adult women, and group therapy will be launching soon. My approach is trauma-informed, affirming, and tailored to your needs.
Who is your ideal client?
I work best with adult women (18+) who are ready to explore their past, take charge of their healing, and do the hard but meaningful work of overcoming trauma, anxiety, and depression. I care to do work around interpersonal relationships, finances, history of abuse/violence, birth trauma, grief/loss and adjusting to life changes. If you're motivated to grow and ready to show up for yourself, we’ll be a great fit.
What is your approach to therapy like?
I believe you are the expert on your life, so I let you guide the session. I usually begin by asking what’s been going on lately. Often, what you bring up naturally connects to your therapy goals and gives us insight into your emotional patterns and behavior.
You may feel a range of emotions during or after sessions—sadness, relief, anger, joy—and that’s all part of the healing process. Therapy isn’t a quick fix, but I’m committed to walking with you as we figure out what’s best for your growth and healing.
First session is an intake session when I get to know more about you and schedule
What therapeutic methods do you use?
My style is relational and down-to-earth, but rooted in evidence-based practices. I am trained in:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance Commitment Therapy
Interpersonal Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Somatic Experiencing
Do you offer culturally affirming therapy?
Absolutely. My practice is grounded in culturally affirmative care, especially for Black women and other women of color. However, people of all ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome and valued here.
What is your availability for appointments?
I see clients by appointment only, with sessions available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Availability may vary, so please reach out to check current openings.
How often would we meet?
I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions to build momentum and make meaningful progress. As we move forward, we can reassess and shift to bi-weekly appointments if that feels more appropriate.
Can you prescribe medication?
No, I cannot prescribe medication. If you're considering medication, I recommend connecting with a psychiatrist. We can continue working together in therapy to support your emotional health, manage behaviors, process the past, and set goals while you're on medication.
What if I’m not the right therapist for you?
If it turns out that I’m not the best fit for your specific concerns, I’ll do my best to connect you with referrals to other clinicians, organizations, or platforms that may better meet your needs. Your healing is the priority.
